The holidays are upon us, which means it’s time to start our annual reflection on the year that was beginning with a review of our favorite libations. To be sure our 2015 Thirsty Thursday reviews/recommendations were loaded memorable, beers, wines, and spirits. Yet, the following resonated more than others and not surprisingly have a happy home in the following categories.
Most Likely to Sip, Reflect, and Say “Wow that’s a damn good beer”
As we reflect back on 2015 there were two beers that made the greatest overall impression on us. Caldera’s Mogli Bourbon Oak-Aged Chocolate Imperial Porter is one of those rare exceptions where the price paid is lives up to the experience on the palate while Grand Teton’s 5 O’clock Shadow Double Black Lager fits the bill as perfection squared.
Most Unique Beer…
Without question this was Small Town Brewery’s “Not Your Father’s Root Beer”…a libation that found an appealing balance of childhood flavors and the desired adult kick.
