Thirsty Thursday has a Guardian Angel who goes by the name of Grand Teton Brewing Co. and when the chips are down and our palates are craving more, GTB consistently deliver satisfaction in sud form. Consistency is one of many things a appreciate about Grand Teton and their latest release of the Cellar Reserve Series beer Double Vision Doppelbock is no exception.
An all time favorite of the Glutton household the Double Vision is a simplistically balanced beer that becomes infinitely more nuanced and addictive with every sip. It’s a proper mixture of creamy velvety smoothness that will challenge most lager enthusiasts from imbibing in less than one bottle at a time.
Here’s my complex review:
Grand Teton Brewing Co. Double Vision Double Bock (8% alc)
Pours a dark and serious brown leather color with a minimal creamy coffee like head. The purity of the Grand Teton’s Munich like water shines as on the nose along with dark roasted malts, a subtle sweetness, and hints of coffee. The palate offers a rich creamy velvety texture that expands and relaxingly lingers on the back half and through the finish. It’s clean with flavors of roasting malts and a subtle smokiness that reveals itself every so often.
